60-acre lake · at the edge of the resort

You don't visit the birds here.
You wake up to them.

Marasandra Lake sits right against The Dome Retreats, Rajanukunte — 60 acres of open water where birders have logged 73 species. Storks and ibis in the shallows; kingfishers and bee-eaters on the banks; warblers that fly in from a continent away. Scroll to meet them — tap any bird to hear its call.

The wild next door

A lake full of birds, minutes from your dome

The Dome Retreats, Rajanukunte sits beside Marasandra Lake — a 60-acre water body is alive with birds — painted storks and glossy ibis wading the shallows, kingfishers and bee-eaters working the banks, and migratory warblers wintering from the north. Binoculars are at reception, and our team can walk you out at first light. The same lake gives us something else, too — the clay our guests throw on the wheel in the resort’s pottery workshop, shaped alongside a potter from the neighbouring village.

Best at first light, and richest in winter — when warblers, pipits and wagtails arrive from the north.

Wake up to this. Stay by the lake.

Best at first light, and richest in winter when the migrants arrive. Book a dome, and let us walk you out to the water before breakfast — binoculars provided.
